This was my introduction to the Laguna Mountains. Followed the HPS guide, including ignoring the gate that is on public land. The trail up the wash is starting to get overgrown and needs to be clipped again. Some icy patches in the wash, but all in all a nice route. Clear view to downtown San Diego 40 miles west and out to the Pacific.
