"No cellular service and lost the trail as it isn’t well marked and there was a lot of logging activity. We ended up going old school with a compass and bushwhacked our way to the top. Super steep and there were tons of dry slippery leaves covering the ground. That made it tough but we got the job done! We found the trail at the summit and followed it back to the car. We figured out where we went wrong. A 1.8 mile total hike. Awesome views at the top. Had the peak to ourselves. " — GreggC • Oct 27, 2024
"A hike for some Ossipee peaks. I hiked up Sentinel Mtn, which was quite a prominent bump. I then hiked over to Flagg. There were a lot of rocks along the trail that slowed down my momentum. I then took the Guerilla Tr to Mt Shaw. The Guerilla Tr had most of their paint blazes down on rocks on the ground. This would be difficult to follow in the winter with there being a lot of open woods. I reached Shaw and had a swarm of blackflies. Nice views though despite the cloudy weather. I headed back to Flagg. I then decided to bushwack to Canaan to save elevation gain/loss if I kept on the trail. I tried to sign into the canister on Canaan but the journal was soaked. I hooked back up to the trail, went over Sentinel and back down to my car. " — newenglandwarrior • May 23, 2024
"Had trouble finding the blazes on the way to Flagg. Dark clouds but no rain. Wore sneakers and knees hurt for the entire descent. Beautiful views from the summit! Yay! The Ossipee Ten completed." — NHClimber • Jun 14, 2020
"Nice easy trail until I entered some open woods and then lost the trail. Brushed aside some leaves (the trail hadn't been used in a long time so lots of leaf litter) to mark where I last saw the trail as I searched for it. Found it, got to the peak, climbed the boulder to make sure I was on the highest point! Decided not press on to Flagg due to potential darkness." — NHClimber • Oct 20, 2019
