From Screel Wood car park off the A 711. I followed forest tracks up to join the hill-path. This ascended through new plantings, followed by lofty firs, to then climb steeply onto the east top (Pt. 342m). The trail continued west along the rugged ridge to the summit. After a very long chat with a local man on the summit, I retraced my steps for the descent, as rain clouds moved in. The rain fell when I was just 5 minutes from my car. Solo.
Warm and sultry, with much heat haze. Rain later.
Wheatears; Painted Lady and Red Admiral butterflies.
