"This is one of the best days you can have in the mountains. The switchbacks are a good workout but not a killer, the views are flawless. Rainier, Baker, Glacier Peak and a thousand others are in your face. Washington peak #50 was a treat. " — puddlepirate • Aug 1, 2023

"This was the first time that I've done any climbing/hiking in the North Cascades. This trail is well maintained, and the views were spectacular. Even the view from the parking lot was breath-taking. Looking up at the switch-backs and the climb to come was a little daunting, but the blooming wildflowers were calling and the ferocious flies kept us moving. This is a must-see hike and is relatively safe for all ages. The scenery was more beautiful than I could have imagined and the local marmots whistling from the rocky outcroppings could be heard for miles. So cool! " — RetrieversRule • Aug 24, 2011

"One of the most beautiful day hikes for advanced and the not so advanced. Spring time is the best with the fresh meadows. Summers are hot, bugs aplenty. Bald Eagles and little critters are everywhere. A must hike for everyone!" — mav6817 • Apr 15, 2011
