"As far as I can determine, Sand Hill is the 2nd highest named highpoint in Indiana, as well as the Noble County HP. My son, Marshall, and I found several posted signs along the road to the south and we did not feel comfortable parking my car out in the open and leaving it. We found a friendly resident on the opposite side of the road and after a long conversation he allowed us to park on his property, even though he did not own the highpoint. We hiked an access road to the SW of Sand Hill and quickly reached an open field after about .25 miles. We found an elevated spot on the edge of the field, took our victory photo and left. We did not feel comfortable climbing Sand Hill, since we saw unoccupied deer stands and could hear gun shots in the distance. We made a quick descent back to our car with no problems." — Stewy • Nov 9, 2014
"The topo maps showed a cemetery close to the summit and we were going to park at the road entrance but it was posted. So we parked across the road and ask another land owner for permission to park. He was very nice but very talkative. We found a dirt path beside a field and took it around the field to the summit. We never visited the cemetery since it was on the other side of the field." — marshallstewart • Nov 9, 2014
