San Marcos Highpoint was (emphasis on WAS) my closest personally unsummitted peak. I had a 4-hour window for an activity today. I couldn't decide if I wanted to ride, hike, or run, so I did all three. I set out on a door-to-door human-powered expeditionary peak-bagging picnic to tag my nearest highpoint. It was fun. I took my road bike as far as it would go on the dirt road, changed into hiking gear, tagged, the peak, then ran down to my bike. As you can see from the GPS track, I had a few route-finding issues, but overall it went great. A beautiful day out and a great way to spend Veterans Day.
