"Ok....so I want summit steward award on my local hill. I realise I have to summit 5 times, done 2 already and there are 3 routes completely sea to summit.....after being rudely awoken by baby seagulls at 5 am (really, they just scream constantly!) I thought I'd head out with dog before it got too hot.
This route is from my favourite cove, Church Ope Cove, which is the longest route. It takes you past Rufus Castle (15th Century built for William II), a couple of pill boxes, fancies farm (meet the wallabies) and the rear entrance of the Verne Citadel (but you still have to swing by the main entrance tunnel to get to the summit).
Done and back home by 9.30 :-)" — staggeronward • Aug 14, 2022

"Solo. From the car park at Kinlochhourn to the lodge and up the track through the woods and along the pylons. Followed stalkers' path which goes a long way up Buidhe Bheinn West Top, then easily to the summit. A little bit of scrambling down the ridge towards the main top, then easily up to the main top. Returned down Coire Lair and the rather wet track to Loch Coire Shùbh. Beautiful Summer day with excellent visibility. By this ascent I have completed the ascents of all the Corbetts on the current list. When I originally completed the Corbetts, Sgurr a' Bhac Chaolais and what is now called Buidhe Bheinn West Top were jointly the Corbett." — peter43 • Aug 12, 2022

"The principal objective of a 15km long round walk from the carpark at the end of the valley road to the south. This went steeply up the ravine to east and north of Glasgwm, taking in Waun Camddwr through the boggy land. Some kind soul has placed planks through the worst part of this path which follows the fenceline pretty much to the top of Aran Fawddwy. A very hot day I couldn't stay at the top long because of the swarms of flying ants, so descended quickly via Drysgol, taking in Waun Goch, before descending along the long diagonal line south westwards." — vygodski • Aug 9, 2022

"Solo. From car park at Invermark. Along broad stalkers' track past Auchronie with a deviation to the summit cairn of Hill of Saughs. Left broad track on southern slopes of Hill of Gairny, following a track initially and then across the heather to the summit. Back more or less same way. A beautiful sunny day." — peter43 • Aug 8, 2022
