"It was a beautyfull day in my bornvillage Şengül. The old/real name is Kürt Kaçağı. It means "Refugeeplace of Kurds". The next villages are Kilise Kaçağı and Ermeni Kaçağı. You can gess: the first one means "Refugeeplace of the Church", the second one is on the other side of now Şengül and means "Refugeeplace of the Armenian". There is also an Armenian church in the mountains 20 km on the eastside of Şengül. Now named "Dikili Taşlar " . It's an inspiring environment with holy plaecs, high mountains and most of them now Alvite Kurdish pure people!" — Murat • Sep 20, 2019

"Summitted with a large guided group on 6/5/2014. Used normal route and had mostly good conditions, particularly on summit day, but weather was variable and afternoon hailstorms were the norm. Needed crampons for only last ~200ft. Logistics were handled by local guides who arranged for horses to take most of our equipment to the base camp and high camp. Trip was five days long with summit on day four." — Timberwolf • Jun 5, 2014
"On a family holiday, staying at my father in laws villa in Koygegiz. We drove up a long windy road up "the valley of the Kings" from Koygegiz and was dropped off at the end where i headed straight up to the nearest of the 3 peaks. traversed all 3 and headed down along the ridge towards Toparlar, spending a night in a bivi bag. (fighting off tortoises all night. They are everywhere!) Finished off at the summit of Alioglu Tepesi and then descende down the river valley to find the road and my pickup. Great days." — billbohill • Oct 3, 2006
