"Morocco. Our plan was to do the Toubkal Circuit. We crossed the Tamatert pass and went to Tacheddirt where it started to pour. We hid in a smelly, mud hut outside the village. We have to turn around the next day just before the dry Likemt pass because of lack of water. We get a lucky hitchhike back to Imlil. The next day we climb to Sidi Chamarouch where we are stopped by police. We need a guide to climb Toubkal because two Scandinavian girls got murdered a couple of months ago. Luckily we can join a group of 4 Polish people and Omar, our guide. We climb through a magnificent gorge and make it to the refuges. We put our tent next to Les Mouflons. We do not sleep well because the mules keep walking around all night. We wake up at 5 and start climbing. When it starts to clear we go first and push on. We were getting cold because of a strong wind. After a short scramble it's only a hard walk up. Because of the Likemt pass we feel adapted to the height and we can enjoy the climb. We make it to the top at about 9 o'clock. The landscape is rugged and arid. We cross a lot of people on the way down. We go slow on the last part through the boulderfield before the refuges. We clean up the te..." — Pieter • Sep 4, 2019
— Karolak • Sep 28, 2016
"Left the village of Nimli at 3PM friday and walked 5 hours to reach the refuge (with mules). After overnighting in it started climbing the summitt at 6:15 and reached it at 8:45 AM. Then back down (with mules) and after having lunch in the refuge went back to Nimli and reached it at 5 PM Saturday" — daviddiedejean • Jul 9, 2016
"A great two days up on Toubkal - driver dropped us off at Imlil and I then realised I had no map and my GPS wasn't loading the one I had loaded in the UK. The route isn't very difficult to follow though, especially given the number of people doing it. Day one was more of a sweaty hike through dusty trails and the random orange juice stalls set up on the mountain trails were much appreciated. The refuge is quite a decent setup although having no acclimatization, we didn't get much of a sleep. Early morning rise for most and we soon hit the hard packed snow .. without crampons. Honestly, crampons weren't really necessary but at least some spikes may have helped on a particularly slippy slope above 3500m. Summit was fine and not too busy as we beat most of the others up, although limited views due to haze. We got back to the hut pretty quickly and grabbed some cold drinks before a rapid descent back to Imlil. " — mproudfoot • May 16, 2016
"During our Stay in Agadir with the Mein Schiff 3 I took the opportunity to climb this Hill in the Middle of the Afternoon Heat. Either follow the boring Road to the top of the Fortress or just find your own little Goat Trail to the Top. I preferred the Goat Trail which was Fun. " — Nuernberger • Nov 6, 2014
