"Initially started out as my girlfriend and I hiking around Sophies Flat Trail (A-C Loop) and following the map through AllTrails, but at about 2 miles in I went off trail and summited Sophies Flat Peak (which is 1 foot taller than Red Top). After the quick easy summit, my girlfriend and I went back down to a different trail before looping around Red Top and using the Use Trail on the western face to summit to Red Top.
The use trail is pretty easy to follow with numerous cairns placed by others. It is a very short climb (I think only like 400 feet elevation gain) from the start of the use trail to the summit and is done in about a half mile. The last section of the climb is a very easy class 3 scramble with 360 degree views at the top. The summit has a wooden pole next to a summit box.
Afterwards, we made our way back down and hiked back to the main trail system and finding our way back to the car. Total distance was about 7.5 mile roundtrip. Below is my alltrails activity recording.

"An unexpectedly fun and exciting peak just outside Wickenburg. Took the Trail A Loop from Sophie's Flat Trailhead to the pass on the southeast side of Red Top, where a spur trail, marked by a couple cairns and an orange roofing tile, leaves the main trail and climbs directly to the summit, requiring some Class 2 and a short section of Class 3 scrambling (easier than Vulture Peak, however). Overall rating 8/10, a quiet trail, fun scramble, and incredible views from the summit: definitely worth a visit if staying in or around Wickenburg." — MountainQuest • Mar 24, 2021
