"set off just after dawn. Maybe there is a trail behind the toilets but I didn't see it - joined it just on the shoulder as I headed straight up. The top on Red Lake is a bit exciting. Then just trucked along the ridge and kept on going. Dropping off the back of the last peak was fun...then a solid bushwack with a nice stream. Hadn't seen anyone at all until I met the trails and then... a whole lot of folks. Easy hike back on the trails with just all good around you. " — gavinfischer • Jun 26, 2021

"Parked at Carson Pass and went straight up from there. Very windy, I lost my Yellowstone hat as I was climbing to the summit, it was sketchy enough getting up there so I didn't need to fall and hurt myself going after a hat!" — Sledhead29 • Jun 6, 2018

"Wanted to do Roundtop but didn't get hiking until noon and didn't think I'd have time. Headed straight up slope from Carson Pass with minimal snow. Initially climbed the shorter south summit before heading up the class 3 crag." — Christopher • Feb 2, 2015

"During a BSA snow camping trip with the Troop, I hike it in snow shoes alone. Did not climb the last knob since I was by myself and felt it was not safe going solo. But, great views from the summit." — mj3920 • Feb 17, 2013
