"I scrambled up the front from harris springs road. Nothing more than a class 3 for climbing towards the top. There's a lot of loose scree so just be careful. Did not expect all the remembrance crosses at the top." — Popwar • Mar 25, 2026
"Started from the parking lot off Rt. 157 for Harris Springs Rd. since I don't have a high clearance vehicle. Hiked through the little slot canyon and then up and out. Found a nice bike trail that skirted around the base of the unnamed / unnumbered peak (elev. 5904) then a short stint on the road. Pretty much followed HWS' trail for the 3 peaks then worked my way back with a detour to the summit of peak 5904, which had twin summit cairns no more than 100 ft apart. Was honored to sign my name under HWS' on Serenity Prayer Hill. A nice network of unmapped bike trails out there" — tracyt • Mar 5, 2026
"I screwed up my knee a few days back, so this really was for recovery. Basically followed what Kevin and Amber did 5 years ago. Harris Springs Rd was in very good shape to this point, and I followed cow/burro paths most of the way back." — hwstock • Apr 28, 2025
"What a day! I was able to do 4 peaks that I've been eyeing for a few years with Anji today. We ended up with over 15 miles and over 5k gain, according to my GPS, but none of it was easy. The brush on these ridges is intolerable. You're constantly changing directions, pushing through brush or ducking under brush. Ugghhhhh. The views from Big Mama ended up being the best of the group." — Kevin • Dec 16, 2020
"Decided to explore some of the areas off of Harris Springs Road with Corey after work. We weren't sure if we would be able to access the area, due to the fire closures a couple of years ago. The main access was closed, but we were able to take a longer, rougher way in from further east. The main road is in good condition, but many of the side roads are severely washed out. The hike was simple & short. We parked at the closest point to the summit and made our way up a gully to the saddle, then up to the summit. There are many wooden crosses up there, along with graffiti and garbage. This is a popular climb for the Harris Springs Ranch patrons - recovering alcoholics and addicts. We had the summit to ourselves this afternoon. Note: the distance and time to summit are definitely not correct (peakery automatically calculated this from the GPX track)!" — Kevin • Jul 31, 2018
