"Had intended to hit the Northwest Peak as well after West Peak, but discovered there is no hiking trail from West Peak over to NW peak without going almost all the way back down to Snoqualmie Point Park." — danv • Jul 18, 2021
"Started off alittle after 7am. Just one vehicle in the parking lot. Headed up the trail for a trail run, great smooth trail for the most part. Only saw one individual hiker on my way up. A few areas, have some rocks and roots, that wanted to grab at some tired feet, but a good run. Summit doesn't really provide much in the way of views since it is heavily wooded, but the views available were nice. On the way down, saw a few more hikers, but definitely not a packed day like others have posted before. Maybe too many were recovering from the Independence Day celebrations." — CraigArnold2 • Jul 5, 2018

"Great hike! Got a little challenging due to snow towards the top, but enjoyable all the way up and down. I didn't learn that there were no rattlesnakes anywhere in the area until the bottom, but that was ok!" — igethigh • Feb 17, 2016

"I decided to start at Rattlesnake Lake and see how much of the route to Lake Washington I that I hiked last year I could trace before the weather turned on me. My plan was to stay the night on South Tiger Saturday night and finish it up Sunday night. I ended up making it to Front Street in Issaquah by the time the rain came on Sunday afternoon. I sat there in the rain eating my lunch and contemplating whether I wanted to continue through the rain or call for a ride. Having already had a great hike up to this point I decided to quit while I was ahead and called my ride. Here's the highlights of my solo overnight traverse of Rattlesnake and Tiger Mountain:
Watching daredevil squirrels on Rattlesnake Ledge.
Avoiding a section of bushwhacking under the power line trail that I foolishly endured the last time around.
An extremely refreshing ford of Raging River.
A sunny afternoon lunch at a campsite along Deep Creek.
Avoiding an awful section of bushwhacking through dead thorns after Deep Creek that I got myself into the last time around.
Not getting mauled by a bear that startled himself. Okay I've gotta go into detail on this one! I had stopped at a junction fo..." — Al-Rashid • May 24, 2014

"This is a great 10.2 mile end-to-end Ridge hike if you can avoid the crowds. We started at sunrise (only 5 cars in the parking lot). By the time we got back there was parking "spill out" of at least 30 cars outside the parking lot. This place may rival Disneyland for crowds. Yikes.
Even though I shouldn't be surprised, I didn't expect the snow that we encountered. Most of the South side of the ridge (and the primary ascent) had about 4-5 inches of packed snow starting at 2,300 feet. At the top and for about 1 mile the snow was more like 1.5 foot. There had been enough foot traffic before us that a snow trail was laid out for the entire length. The snow was with us until we dropped through 2,400 feet on the North side." — herdingcats • Mar 23, 2014

"On this cloudy January day in Seattle, we were shocked to suddenly burst forth from the fog a mile or so down the road from the Rattlesnake Lake TH. Perfect blueby day! Entire Seattle region was in a dense cloud bank all day... but we trumped all as kings of the ridge as we played hookie from our offices. Only a few spots of snow at the highest parts of the ridge (the most at the summit of East Peak and Windy Landing). Trail is in great shape. Excited to come back and trailrun it next time... looks like an ideal route. 10.2 miles from Rattlesnake Lake to Snoqualmie Point." — scott • Jan 16, 2014

"For a long time my friends and I have wanted to do some sort of Issaquah Alps traverse hike. I was inspired by a Rattlesnake Lake to Lake Washington route through the Issaquah Alps taken by Team Verve. As fate would have it this was the weekend everything fell in place and we finally made it happen. Our route was similar to theirs except we took a less direct route across Tiger Mountain putting the grand total at 48 miles with roughly 9000 feet of elevation gain. Needless to say it was painful, but most of all it was a blast!
The first highlight of the trip was climbing through the crevice on rattlesnake ledge down to the ledge below and relaxing on the ledge as the sun began to peak through the clouds. From there it was on to the summit of Rattlesnake Mountain. Near the summit the trail was pretty icy and we were packing as light as possible which meant no traction devices whatsoever, so it got pretty interesting in a few places. We continued on improving trail conditions along the ridge until we were under the powerlines near the north end of the ridge.
There was some bushwacking along a steep section of the powerline route, but when it really got interesting was aft..." — Al-Rashid • Mar 29, 2013

"Did an early morning start up Rattlesnake from Rattlesnake lake. Trail was almost all clear up to the first ledge. There was some packed snow on the first ledge itself, but I bet it will not last long. Above the first ledge, snow started covering the trail pretty quickly. By the third ledge, the trail was 100% covered. The view from the ledges was good. There were some clouds, but they were all high, so they didn't obscure the surrounding mountains.
After the ledges, I continued to East Peak. The trail is stomped down pretty good, so there are no navigation challenges. Microspikes would have been useful, but I did ok without them. Snow shoes are not needed on the trail. They would be useful for off trail hiking. I sank down quite a bit every time I stepped off the trail to take a picture, once almost up to my waist.
The trail leads to East Peak, and about a 100 yards beyond to the view point. No tracks continued after that. The views from East Peak are not great. Lots of trees block the way. There is a break in the trees where you can see Rainier from right in front of the tower. The view point near East Peak has some views of Si and the Middle Fork valley.
There is still..." — MangyMarmot • Mar 24, 2012

"12 mile hike. Started at the Snoqualmie Point trailhead and hiked to the East Peak, stopping at all the usual places - Stan's Overlook, Grand Prospect, Windy Landing. Weather was sunny, but cold." — mtnhiker • Dec 5, 2011

"After returning from Dirty Harry's Peak, I headed to Rattlesnake Mountain for a second summit. With a bit of a time limit, I hauled ass to East Peak near the first of many towers. A pleasant and uneventful hike." — Jeb • Sep 16, 2011
