"We went via the Rampart Lakes Backdoor TH. To get to this trailhead, go up toward the Mt Margaret / Lake Lillian trailhead, and at 3280 ft, at a hairpin turn, go straight north and continue along 2 miles of narrow forest road. The Backdoor TH puts you at 3800 ft, and it's steep going up to Lake Lillian, but short. Going around Lake Lillian on the right side puts you up on a ridge overlooking the lake. Instead of continuing on the trail north, we turned sharply south and ascended the ridge to this peak. The ridge is adventurous, sometimes very narrow with precipitous drops on both sides. We saw a lot of goat hair stuck to the branches in narrow places; no goats at the top though. It's a great little ridge hike. You don't need to climb up steep rocks, but you do need to squeeze through dense trees in places, and carefully navigate the narrow spots. Interestingly, once you get to the actual peak, it opens up into a wide, grassy meadow and the ridge widens going further south. The goats must love this place.
