Been wanting to do this one on a cool day. As it turned out, it was a cool and foggy day in the mountains. Since there is no trail, I established my own x/country route. At a dirt pullout just off Lone Pine Canyon Road on Swarthout Canyon Road, I headed due east cutting across the open plain. I followed a buried pipeline for a short stretch to the NE before picking up a dried creek bed. I followed the creek bed to the base of the hills. I then worked my way onto a ridge and then kept going to the peak. This is one of those rarely visited summits, despite being close to Highway 138 and Interstate 15. I believe my entry was only the third one so far this year. The upper slopes were engulfed in fog, so I still have no idea what the view looks like from up there. A great short outing was all I had time for, and I got what I was looking for.
