Despite not feeling too great, I forced myself out early to my favorite backyard playground. I parked at the south end of the Lava Butte Road & hiked out the atv trail down the valley below Hummel, went up the NNE ridge of Hummel, descended the west side of Hummel right below the peak & hiked over to the ridge to Rainbow View, down the west side of Rainbow View back to my Jeep. I've done variations of this loop many times. Was glad to get out.
