"I wish I knew how Quakers Knob got its name. The summit is on private property, but it’s not posted, so I made my way up the gravel lane to the top. The views are pleasant: old farms where the houses stand empty, grassy hayfields for the milk cows, many ugly incursions by the frackers. But the wood thrushes greeted me at the top with their afternoon song, and that makes any trek worthwhile." — briansnyder • Jun 29, 2025
