"Parked where West Binney Pond Road becomes more of a trail than road. Hiked to the Wapack trail and turned north to hit all 3 summits. Warm sunny day for April, no bugs, dry trail. Nice views of the pond as there are no leaves out, yet. Clear enough to see Monadnock to the west. " — Gregrog • Apr 24, 2021
"Started out with a wild ride up Binney Pond Rd. Which was very washed out. Luckily, the Wrangler was able to climb it in 4WD. Saw two deer getting out of the car. The trail as very well maintained as were the wooden bridges around the pond's edge. Lot's of evidence of recent beaver activity and two pairs of Canada geese were making their noise out on the pond. The climb to Pratt Mtn summit was short, but steep with pretty vistas from the overlook of Watatic Mtn and Mt. Watchusset ski area. It was clear enough to make out the Boston skyline, some 50 miles distant. Just beyond the summit, there were views to the west of Mt. Monadnock and in the distance you could see Mt. Snow and Stratton ski areas, almost 60 miles away. Decided not to head to Stony Top and headed back instead. Nice morning." — rjnick • Apr 25, 2020
"Parked 0.25 miles from the trailhead due to rocky, wet road. Greeted by woodpeckers busy everywhere on the walk to the trailhead and down to Binney pond. The stream at the pond was passable and the bog bridges were in good repair. Lots of beautiful views of the pond and watched a great blue heron that was nesting at the waters edge. The climb to Pratt was very nice and the spring at the base of the mountain was flowing nicely. The views from the Pratt ledges were great and you could see Watatic, Emmerson hill and the Mount Wachusett clearly. No bugs at all." — rjnick • Apr 17, 2016
"Out and back hike over Pratt, Stony Top and New Ipswich Mountain. Trail is slightly overgrown in sections and the marshy terrain makes this quite a buggy hike for spring/early summer but had a fantastic day on the Wapack!" — Selrahc2nd • Jun 9, 2014
"Hiked in from Binney Hill Rd. because it was impassable. Rather cold and windy, but no snow. I was fighting asthma most of the way up. Continued on to New Ipswich Mountain and back to Binney Hill Rd." — MotherConfessor • Nov 26, 2012
"The third peak on the trip today & also where I slipped & broke my camera. Bummer. I only have pictures of this peak from the trail today, and from Kidder Mountain, where I was yesterday. & now I have no pictures to share of the other 8 peaks on today's trek. " — VonSelmer • Nov 26, 2011
