"Sparkling sunshine made for a great hike. There was a cold NNW wind, but it wasn't an issue. Unless you hung out on the north side of the summit, 30-40 mph winds. Trail was packed out nicely. Snowshoes door to door." — Alohabuffy • Mar 6, 2023

"Oh my what a hike, the stream right at the beginning was so insane, My best friend and I were jumping across the rocks and my foot slipped! SPLASH! right into the water. The stream was so high it almost went into my boot, thankfully it did not. The scrambles were fun also. Beautiful views at the top. " — MadHobbyist • Sep 11, 2021

"Nice way to kick off what will be an unusually late/short hiking season. Beautiful terrain, beautiful views, and we happened to have beautiful weather too! The parking lot was full at 10am, but most of the traffic must have been there for Potash's neighbor, Hedgehog (another great hike!) because we only crossed paths with a few fellow hikers on our climb. Mount Potash Tr was clear and inviting, and the steepness of some sections brought a little challenge to the otherwise short and easy climb. Well worth it! There seemed to be a fair amount of exposure even far below the summit, so I was glad to be wearing a hat and sunscreen. A plus was getting various great views from different sides of the mountain. High recommend it." — gooner • Aug 1, 2020

"Nice trip up Potash with Kurt. We started around 8AM and the weather was very good. Warm and sunny but with a slight breeze at the summit. Not many people hiking. Met a nice couple from Reading, PA at the summit. Water crossing was a little high but bearable." — mattgardner • Jul 18, 2020

"Gorgeous day. This is a beautiful trail thru a marvelous hemlock forest all the way to the open summit. Loons flying overhead and spruce grouse in the thickets!! Views limited due to cloud cover at 4000'. Was informed by a hiker at the trailhead that the water crossing was questionable so I used the fire road access." — goshen-bagger • Jun 3, 2017

"Hiked Potash on January 1st, 2017. when we approached the first view, we were thinking it was the summit... lol. we were only half way. this is a full day hike, beautiful view at the top. find us at 'New England Hikes' on Facebook and Youtube." — danbrandis • Jan 1, 2017

"Solo hike up Potash & Hedgehog....started with Potash and within 5 minutes I came to the stream/river that was so high! I had to do a scary river crossing and wound up with a wet leg. After that it was super fast up to the top with a beautiful view of Mount Washington. Back down I decided to take out the microspikes for the river crossing (super slick rocks with ice)...which went much better until a rock wobbled under my foot. Up and down in 2 hours." — shay-shay • Nov 1, 2016

"Kali and I hiked from the logging road entrance on the Kanc as I was wearing new boots and didn't want to hit mud or water test them right off. It added .4 mile rt but was worth it to me. Fun and nice trail. Met quite a few people on this Sunday hike. It is well worth the hike and was gorgeous! " — Hufflepuff • Sep 25, 2016
