Mike & I drove out to the northern tip of the Spring Mountains to bag a few peaks we hadn't been to before. I was fighting off a cold, so I wasn't at full strength. We started with Point of Rocks Peak, approaching via the western gully. Honestly, after that, I was beat and I tried to hint to Mike that I didn't want to do the other 2, but he didn't get it, so we drove down the road a couple miles, then headed towards Freddie Peak. We parked off the highway, just NE of Chase Mountain, hiked to the valley between Chase & Freddie, then ascended the Northern ridge to Freddie Peak. After a short break, we went back down the ridge and ascended up the Southern ridge to Chase Mountain. Found a non-fossilized seashell at the top. Descended the NE gully to the Jeep, then drove back home.
