"Highwood Ridge > Grizzly Ridge > Mt. Tyrwitt > Mt. Pocaterra > Pocaterra Ridge. Solo mission for 5 peaks. Highwood, Grizzly, Tyrwitt we’re straight forward with no complications other than a scree slog up Tyrwitt. One group above was unintentionally sending a lot of rock down the face. The ridge to Pocaterra was long and relatively fun. Great views the whole way. Route finding on Mt. P was the only real challenge. I ended up climbing some exposed sections that I may have avoided if I read up more beta beforehand. Descending the east face was interesting. You pretty much go the where you don’t get cliffed out, trending to skiers right. I then crossed a snow patch at the top of the valley to gain the western flank of P Ridge. There were enough game trails to make some sidehilling bearable. the return trip through the valley was enjoyable. A creek was perfect to cool off and refill my water. I love this area for the minimal approach time below treeline. It was a quick 3km to warm beers in the parking lot! I’d do this one again. Not this year though. " — ivo • Jul 30, 2022
"We did this during peak larch season so the crowds were insane lol. Needless to say this trail is hard to lose your way on. Beautiful fall scenery and OUTSTANDING views from the top." — Slogenstein • Sep 24, 2021
"Went for sunset and got an incredible reward for sticking it out late. Took about 3.5 hours round trip. Larches are starting to fade and the trail has some muddy sections, but overall great October conditions. " — nathanwatt • Oct 2, 2020
"A full winter day, with very strong winds.
Many skiers were having a great time. We did it without snowshoes, though they could have been useful. Summit Ridge is starting to have wind slabs! Though I was not worried at any point about avalanche hazard. We tried to come down by the ski-out. The wisdom herein is debatable." — apfelstrudel • Nov 13, 2017
"Stephan and I decided it was too cold to climb and that we should do a hike, so I convinced him to do this instead of the Heart Traverse, which he seems to like a bit too much for me lol (I've done it enough times, thanks). I had never done this and was hoping to squeeze it in this fall for larch viewing. Bert joined us too and the three of us had a good, clear day with definite fall in the air. We went N-S to get the extra elevation gain and to avoid the hordes coming from the other direction." — leigh-annewebster • Sep 16, 2017
"An incredible fall day and mixed bag of weather ranging from stormy to sunny with amazing clouds all day. Will have to go back and do it again from the Highwood Pass approach on a sunny warm day." — Mountainman • Oct 18, 2014
"Due to the wrong parking lot description did this one instead of Grizzly and Highwood Ridges. Did it with a pregnant woman and a 2-year old child. Quite a long day. Saw a few people on the trail." — alexp • Jul 20, 2014
