"From the Duca de Abruzzo refuge, the path descends a little to the passo before skirting around the steep anticima of this top, to climb from the south. The last 150 meters or so is quite rocky and requires some scrambling, but nothing too serious. Wonderful flora and fauna here. Tiny blue and pink flowers, and some radiant blue ones with four petals. The top of this hill has two crosses and the views are stupendous. On the descent I encountered three chamoix goat antelope thingies which showed off their rock climbing abilities. On the return I climbed the anticima - no path but the ridge isn't as dangerous as it looks - then made the steep descent back to the path, then took a relatively flat route south of the ridge skirting round to return to Campo Imperatore where, as I feared, all the places selling arrosticini were closed. However, the Ostello serves one of the best beers I know - the rossa Forst - so a job well done." — vygodski • Jun 21, 2022
