"Finishing up the epic Rim Walk weekend. We started from the Visitor's Center, were we left off yesterday, and then walked along the rest of the Rim Trail to the South Kaibab Trailhead. We were then going to take the Shoshone Trail to Shoshone Point/Overlook, but it was torn up by mule hooves in the snow and was just a mess. We decided instead to then just walk the road to Yaki Point and nab our last of the rim overlook points - and we can honestly say that we walked the whole thing ourselves. So very, very awesome! Today the snow was pristine and beautiful, the views were incredible. The wind wasn't as bad as yesterday, and we didn't have any additional storms blow over us. Just a great walk on the Rim Trail, and the the final portion was on the shoulder of the road. Not as scenic, but we made it! Took the bus back from Yaki Point to the Visitor's Center before departing. What an awesome trip!" — psychikingjes • Mar 6, 2022
"The original plan was to hike from Bright Angel TH to Yaki Point, then descend down South Kaibab to Phantom Ranch & back up Bright Angel. The weather started to turn and we didn't really sleep the night before, so we changed the plan. We hiked from Bright Angel to Yaki Point along the Rim Trail, hitting the overlooks along the way. After that, we took the tram back to near Mather Point and followed the Rim Trail the other way all the way to Hermit's Rest, hitting all of the overlooks along the way there. We ended up with nearly 20 miles on the day. We endured rain and some light hail along the way, but were treated to some fantastic views. Rim Trail is a new favorite!" — Kevin • Nov 7, 2020
" I traveled here to try my 1st solo R2R2R but fear overwhelmed me and I ended up only running about 18.5 miles along the rim instead. I wept in defeat on the drive home. I eventually did R2R2R on 9.17.2019 in 17:55 hrs w/Karla Kent. " — paula.raimondi • Jan 13, 2018
