"My brother Josh was kind enough to drive my brother Patrick and I to another AZ prominence peak in less than a week, and we made it to the trailhead pretty early. I know we made the entire dirt road drive back from the trailhead to I-17 in about 1:05, so we probably took a little longer on the way out in the early light. But the road was pretty rough for the last 7 or so miles, and requires high clearance and probably 4WD. We took the Willow Springs trail at the junction, and hit all 4 highpoints along the rim, including the one south of the Pine Mt. Trail junction. We decided we liked the Willow Springs trail, and returned that way. We probably spent more than an hour on all the summits total, but primarily the northernmost one, which we were on twice. The leaves were a little past peak, but still looked pretty nice, and we all enjoyed the hike. The trail had just been maintained in October. " — ZachTeich • Nov 12, 2024
"AZ P2K #23. Got a little off trail from all th cattle tracks and hit the rim a few miles to the north. Tagged Little Juniper to make up for it. Nice fall colors and a beautiful Canyon with running water and pools holding trout. Complete TR: http://www.themtsarecalling.com/pine" — Christopher • Oct 14, 2017
"Beautiful loop among alligator junipers, ponderosa and giant sycamores. Really enjoyable to walk by running water!
The views from the Verde Rim are fantastic: Mogollon Rim, Mazatzals, Verde valley, even the Superstitions in the distance ; Humphrey's peak to the North and the Bradshaws to the West." — Gabsolute • Apr 8, 2017
