For the most, it's just an enjoyable ridge walk with first-class colourful views. Moderate scramble sections are en-route to Victoria Peak and off Pincher Ridge North point. The latter is avoidable by taking slopes between the main summit and North part of the ridge.
As it was raining and snowing (in other places) previous night, had my hiking/scrambling boots instead of approach shoes. I definitely forgot how heavy it is in them. By the time I got back to the service road, I was ready to kiss it and yell "hallelujah".
Got lucky with the weather: while it was really wet in the morning but got dry by lunch; was mainly cloudy and a couple storms that appeared on horizon around 5pm, just went another way." — alexp • Aug 17, 2019
"Did this as part of the Victoria - Pincher Traverse. Easy travel from the South Peak.
From centre we continued to the Centre-Main col. This involved a "moderate scrambling" downclimb. It's not too rough, but stepping from rock to steep dirt is always a bit unnerving. Mostly easy travel to the col.
We tagged Pincher main last year, so we called it a day.
Traveled north from the col to a sub-peak. Easy travel, but windy.
Followed the ridge from this peak north east back to the access road. Getting off the ridge involved a moderate to difficult downclimb in a wet, slimy gully. Be careful here. The rest of the ridge has easy scramble options...moderate if you take the bands head on.
At the end of the ridge, we turned north. Reasonable bushwhacking to a horse trail that led us to a cold crossing of Pincher Creek. A few hundred meters later, we crossed a smaller branch of the creek, then up to the road... 1 km from the car.
Nice day.
We took Spirko's route down including the coulouir.
