"Parked at Saddle Tor South Car Park and followed the track up to Saddle Tor to enjoy views of the south coast in the distance. Seeing Haytor Rocks were crowded already I trekked in a clockwise loop around the area taking in a number of tors and rocks as well as waist high ferns on the north side of the downs. Eventually ending up at the North Summit of Black Hill before skewing back across Haytor Down and, after a quick trip to the abandoned quarry, up Haytor itself! Walking down through the car park and past the huge queue for the ice cream van, Pinchaford Ball was next, then on to Bag Tor before returning to the road and skirting the south side of Saddle Tor before reaching the car once more. Solo, overcast, 13.5km." — MuchMoorWalking • Jun 26, 2021
"Sunday 17th Dec 2017 Stroll: Sunday morning - wanted somewhere close, new preferably and short. Did Bag Tor last time, ticked off, nearby decided on Pinchaford Ball. From the Haytor higher car park just head away from Haytor on the highest part of the hill (398m on OS Explorer). Avoid dropping down either side. Soon the hill drops east and the outcrops become visible. While small and flat, they are pleasant and a great way to get away from the busyness of Haytor. Nice views too. #getthistorrecognised" — torbagger • Dec 17, 2017
