Dropped the mountain bike at the carpark and drove on to Yadboro Flat camping ground. Started the hike from there, via Bridle Firetrail to Longfella Pass. Picked up the Pigeon House North Firetrail at the top of the Pass and then via the north access track. This last track is not used very often and was overgrown. Lost the track at the foot of the cliffs so bashed around the north west side til I found the stairwells/ladders to the top.
Returned to the carpark and my bike via the normal track and rode the 8 km back to the car.
Great day out and avoided the crowd for most of the day. An awesome alternate to the normal ascent.
