"Got a clear morning after 4 days of rain at Salkantay trek, unfortunately didn't last, around 9 clouds started to group again and at 10 whole Huayna Picchu was hidden. When we got to the top, there were no views. On the way down it started raining a lot. Bad day for visit...

"our first hike above 4000m. We didn't have snow equipement so the plan was to reach the snow line, then turn back, eventually we made it only to the first laguna. "Peru. Took a truck that was a bus for locals. At the parking, people wanted money. 100 metres further at an improvised entrance people wanted money again. We wanted to camp just before the rainbow mountain but, guess what, a farmer asked money. He said the area is his property, yeah right. The alpaca maybe but the land? We keep climbing and camped after the colourful rainbow mountain. It snows at night, if we hadn't gone up the day earlier we wouldn't have seen the coloured mountain, still grateful to that prick of a farmer haha. Went down through the Valle Rojo. Surreal landscape." — Pieter • Dec 2, 2017
"We were in the 10am group, so the morning mist had cleared and we had spectacular weather. Tried the floating steps near the highest terrace, just for fun. The tunnel was an interesting route feature!" — neuromon • Nov 17, 2015
"Tom Harrison and Richard Stain climbed this peak by the south face, after a bivvy on a snow ledge about 300m below the summit. Then via a prominent rock band, and snow slopes to the east ridge and thus the snow summit. Richard suffered snow blindness on return, spent a second night (and third) night at the bivvy. We believe this was the first ascent. The height is close to 5400m NOT the 4900m shown on this web site. " — richard.stain.3 • Jul 27, 1971
