"The summits of both Penobscot and Sargent are magical for different reasons. Penobscot has beautiful views of the Atlantic and pools of water that grows well-known water lilies. Sargent has pink granite and various cairns built to mark the trail. Sargent also has a pond along the trail if you want to cool off. " — CAnn • Aug 6, 2021
"Day 1 of the Acadia trip. A loop hike up Pemetic Mtn, the Bubbles, and Penobscot Mtn. We went up the southern ridge of Pemetic. Some beautiful views there. Then steeply went down to the road. Crossed the road and went up North Bubble first. There was a really nice view near the summit there. Down that Bubble, then up South Bubble. Some excellent views there. Went back to the col, then down to Jordan Pond. Then up Penobscot Mtn for the excellent views there. We then hiked down the southern ridge and made our way to Jordan Pond House. "Noah, Baxter, Marla, and I looked over six Acadia peaks, seeing different (yet pleasant) weather on each one. Bald Peak -> Parkman -> Gilmore -> Sargent -> Penobscot -> Cedar Swamp" — rwthacke • May 30, 2020

"Climbed down the Sargent East Cliffs which had me pretty gassed. It was a long slog up to this one, which was the 5th peak of the day. Another great open summit with a great view of the islands just off the coast. A short walk to a nice tarn that my dog took a swim in. " — mikewilliamsjr • Jun 2, 2017

"Started out cool and cloudy but the weather opened up for a decent view by the time we reached the summit. Great open views almost the whole way up the south side of the mountain on this trail. The Spring Trail is pretty steep so be prepared if you choose that option." — Gregrog • Sep 19, 2015
