"Please don't try to follow my route through the forest - you'll regret it! ;-) Long story short, got the adventure, got hail, snow, rain, sunshine, and some minus temps on the tops! Trashed my knee trying to take short cuts through steep forest with a ridiculous number of trees flattened by the storm last week. The road in resembled a bomb going off. The amount of trees that have come down over the road that have been chain sawed and cleared. All the farms and houses still without power with generators the size of cars outside their houses provided by the electric grid company. All the electric cables and phone lines still strewn along and across the road. I pulled up into the car park at the end of the dead end road and theres still electric cables on the floor. I bet those people couldn't get out of their houses for days with the road blocked, no electric, no phone line and theres no mobile signal down there either " — adventure-stricken • Dec 14, 2024
