"This clockwise route from the north of Pen Y Fan seemed easier than anti-clockwise which most people do. Also allowed for a better leg warm up prior to the ascent, which on this route was pretty steep up onto the first ridge of Cefn Cyff - we were going to skirt around the bottom of it to the north far end and then ascend up the well trodden trail, however we decided to follow various sheep trails through the thick bracken which essentially took us directly straight up." — adventure-stricken • Aug 4, 2024

"Solo. From the carpark a little south of Storey Arms. Up the broad gravel path that goes to Pen y Fan. Deviated to include Corn Du. A very large number making the ascent with many, but not all taking in Corn Du. Continued to Cribyn, Craig Gwaun Taf and Y Gyrn. "Took the horseshoe route from Neuadd car park up to Bwich-ar-y-fan, made a detour up Fan-y-Big and back again, then continued up Cribyn, on to Pen-y-fan, Corn Du and Duwynt then SSE along the ridge. A slight detour to the trig point at 642m before descending the new path, across the reservoir wall and then back to the car. Took just over 4 hours with no stops. " — vygodski • Apr 15, 2017

"Spent a few days on Brecon during my Army days. Came here to carry out Navigation excercise's, both day and night. Some tough slogs up the hills. As with all my summits whilst serving, I want to return with my family one day, and enjoy the views." — HikingViking • Jul 17, 1987
"Took a bus to the Storey Arms access from Brecon & walked over Corn Du, Pen y Fan, Cribyn & a few others. Took a ridge down to Pencilli village, cut across fields, followed a canal, forded the Usk River, cut across more farmland to Tallylyn then followed a road to Llangorse Lake where we tented for the night. Walked to a pub & back in Llangorse after tea. A good days walking!" — glennj • Apr 7, 1983
