12.3.19~Forlorn Hope & Peeper Benchmark/Volcano. 11 miles, 2,000’ gain in 4:02hr (and I made it for kids school pickups too) 8 miles of trail running to and from and 3 miles of mountaineering. These were really neat and I’m happy I got a lot of running in too. I encountered 4 tarantulas (3 when I was driving and I had to swerve a little to avoid smooshing them)...I also saw a kill zone with ravaged sheep hooves. Forlorn Hope was really special! It had a sheer cliff on one side and a small class 3 section for excitement. It’s hard to put into words how beautiful and peaceful it is out there. Heaven right here on earth and in my backyard.
I can’t get enough of these gorgeous peaks in Boulder City/Eldorado Wilderness.
Gimme more....
