"I parked off the Lee Canyon Road & went up a gully to reach the old mining road. I followed this past the old cabin & mining ruins & took a steep route to the top of the ridge after the path ends. I went over Peak 8931 again (was technically there on the 26th as well) & set up my camp up behind it on the ridge. It was a stunning day with dramatic clouds. I hiked out to Istvan's Peak, then came back & painted for awhile. Sunset was lovely. Winds kicked up all night, but my tent was in a sheltered spot, so it didn't really bother me. Sunrise was beautiful. Packed up & headed down in the morning. I took a bit of a detour to some nice formations on the slope to the ridge. A wonderful trip!" — StudioHoodoo • May 25, 2025

"Went up here again for a short jaunt. It was super windy. It was pushing me around. I would've continued out the ridge, but that wind was too much. I found a love letter, a burned candle, a jiffy pop pan, a rubber glove & 5 coconuts on the way up. I picked up all the trash on the way down. I like the views from this ridge." — StudioHoodoo • May 11, 2025

"Now that I have done this route a few times, I think that the descent route from Peak 8931 back to the cabin should be used for ascent also. It is steep and loose in places, but not much more than the ascent route on this track. There is a filled in mine, just past the cabin, that you can use for reference as to where to turn. If you are in the right spot and you start to climb up here you will know you're on a good route when you come across an open mine. Just keep going up from here and you will soon hit the ridge line that runs west over to Peak 8931. Only part of this track is on an old mining road that is easy to follow. The rest is a scramble. Have fun! Be Safe!" — Heartattackbruce • Aug 28, 2024

"Peak 8931 has at most 140' prominence, so I'm not sure why it is on Peakery... but this route gets you there without the talus. I parked a bit in from the Mack's Canyon Road, but you could currently get to the start of the forest road with a 2wd and 6" clearance (really need 5", except to park in a bit). The ridge up and the route down were mostly brush-free. I had planned for a longer day, but when I got to Black Sister, I realized I hadn't refilled my water." — hwstock • Jun 4, 2024

"Went up to the Edith Mine Cabin on the way to the peaks. From the mines up to the ridgeline to Peak 8931 is a scramble on loose, steep scree. The attached track is for directional purposes only. There may be better, shorter, less steep routes available. " — Heartattackbruce • May 20, 2024

"My 17th traverse. Inspired by AceKelly and Maggie, I added peak 8931. I took the "Mistake" Chute up N Sister, terrible talus with two interesting sections. This is not the normal "hard" route up." — hwstock • Jun 26, 2023

"Wanted to do this peak to check out the old mine and miners cabin. The hike to the peak itself was steep with a lot of bushwhacking and scree, but checking out the old cabin and mine was definitely worth the effort. " — maggielynn • Jun 11, 2023

"I decided to go to this peaklet which sits above some mining relics I've wanted to check out for awhile. I recommend parking at the next pullout, north of where I parked, closest to Deer Creek Hwy. There is some private land to avoid, especially the way I went up, but it wasn't too hard to skirt. I headed up a gully & connected with an old mining road that is labeled on maps. The road was great & pleasant to hike on. Closer to the top, I started to find mining debris, but I somehow missed what I was looking for when I lost the old road & took a direct route up a steep, loose slope with quite a bit of bushwacking. I don't recommend that part of my route. The road has some large bushes growing onto it & is easy to miss in places, so keep an eye on your GPS. If you stay on the road, the hiking is easy. Once on top of the ridge, there is some more bushwacking and/or route finding through dense trees and around cliffy formations. Eventually, it opens up & the ridge is pleasant. The views over Lee Canyon & Mack's Canyon & their peaks were awesome. I continued past the "peak" to a nice point at the end of the ridge which had even better views & sat there for about an hour, enjoying the ni..." — StudioHoodoo • Jun 26, 2022
