"I returned on this morning after a couple of days hiking in the Scodie Mountains and southernmost Sierra across Walker Pass to round off my vacation on a couple of tiny hikes in one of my favorite haunts: the San Gabriels. I wanted to make a loop out of this hike, so I started up Lightning Ridge Nature Trail at Inspiration Point Vista Area at Angeles Crest Hwy. The Lightning Ridge Nature Trail branches off to the right from the Pacific Crest Trail at the TH and then rejoins the Pacific Crest Trail up on the ridge. When I took the nature trail, there is so much destruction from winter storms that it made some of the nature trail nearly impassible, and there was still considerable amounts of snow as well, but I managed to push and squeeze through it, rejoined the PCT on the ridge and about 40' ahead, took the small use trail that ascends to the peak which has a wonderful view towards the East Fork San Gabriel River canyon and ocean, and to the southern High Sierra, Telescope Peak and maybe even Mt. Charleston near Vegas! I rejoined the PCT and followed it back to the Inspiration Point Vista Area. Right after, I crossed the hwy and went up to Peak 7547 via a small dirt road lead..." — brianpowell • Apr 6, 2019
"I took the reverse way up to the summit. From Inspiration Point, I took the PCT, which is a little higher than the road. I then quickly diverted from the PCT to climb a use trail to the small summit next to Peak 7547. From there, it was an easy traverse to Peak 7547. I encircled the fenced in top before returning on the dirt road and the PCT to form a loop hike of the peak." — MikeTeeples • Oct 27, 2018
"Peak 7547 is a super easy peak to climb from Inspiration Point at Blue Ridge on Angeles Crest Highway. I took the PCT right next to the highway, which is also right by 3N26 (Blue Ridge Truck Trail). I followed the PCT to a junction with a service road, onto which I turned left, and which I followed to the summit (about 1/2 mile with 170' gain) with radio towers. There is a very slightly higher knoll just about .1 mi to the southwest of the radio facility, and it has a use trail leading to it, so I visited that as well. I then followed that same faint use path back to the PCT shortly before crossing Angeles Crest back to my car. The hike was a loop of 0.8 mi r/t. This could be one of the easiest peaks to reach on foot I have ever done! I had climbed Mt. Sally and Peak 7160 earlier, and after a few hours of fall leaf peeping after them, I did the Lightning Ridge Nature Trail, and then crossed the highway to cap off the day with this lovely peak with insane views! You could drive up the dirt road in a car to the summit, but what is the fun in that?!?" — brianpowell • Oct 21, 2018
