"I have seen this peak every time I hike up Tunnel Creek road and it keeps teasing me to bag it. Interesting hiking up the road wearing T-shirt and shorts on bare ground with snowshoes strapped to my pack. As soon as I stepped off the road to start the whack over to the peak I plunged through the snow up to my crotch. Ok the ‘shoes are going on especially since I had to cross tunnel creek then ascend over the foot of a ridge from a neighboring peak. Once over the ridge I stumbled upon a mountain bike trail which made for easy walking over to the peak I wanted. The ascent up to 7323’ was nice and open but was a patchwork of snow fields and bare ground. As expected there were plenty of nice views over the lake between the trees and boulders. On my way back I hopped on the bike trail which was a sweet descent for quite a ways. Eventually I hit a section the builders are still cutting out, made for slower progress, fortunately the road was real close after a short but steep climb.
