"A quick excursion with my son to the nearby Sierra de Lugar, a strong wind is blowing from the north and we are alone in the mountains. We just want to breathe fresh air and exercise our legs. We see that with the last rains numerous bushes have flourished and the thicket has
hidden some trails.
On the peaks we look for sheltered places to have a small lunch under the sun's rays filtering through the clouds. My son is starting to love the
mountains now, I'm glad to see that my efforts as a child paid off." — franciscobirruezo • Apr 23, 2022

"It is a clear day today and I decide to approach the Sierra de Lugar near the village of La Garapacha. There are already quite a few almond trees in bloom due to the heat records in December, however we return to the cold these days of January. As I go up I see a guy with a helmet and harness who was doing the via ferrata running down, I thought he needed help but he greeted me calmly and kept running. At the top of the peak 613m I had a small lunch and from there I took a steep trail to the ridge that leads to the 699m peak. This mountain range is like an island surrounded by low-lying areas and is interesting for its geology and its caves, and it is rarely visited." — franciscobirruezo • Jan 16, 2022

"Lightning trip to this lonely mountain range that looks like an island, I climb quickly and I just stop to take pictures in the evening light.
On the top a strong wind welcomes me while I see a group of vultures flying high and turning on me." — franciscobirruezo • Oct 24, 2019

"My last and highest Peak this morning. I climb on the east side, full of loose stones, at the top I eat a red apple and enjoy the views. I find a path to go back along the ridge but later it disappears and I have to make a detour. When returning by the track I find the map that I lost when climbing.
I also pick up some bottle that dirties the mountain to leave it a little cleaner." — franciscobirruezo • Feb 8, 2019

"The north face of the Sierra del Lugar has important rocky walls. We have climbed a hill that was a continuous rock. Others mountaineers descended in abseiling. Some stones of solid appearance were rolling. At the top there are steel cables of the via ferrata.
To get here take the road MU-17A from Fortuna passing the Cortado de Las Peñas, where a fault broke the mountain in two." — franciscobirruezo • Aug 19, 2017
