From the wide pullout (John Henge Trailhead), I crossed the highway And picked up the PCT at the point where the PCT crosses the highway. After walking a few yards on the PCT, I left it on the left on what looked like an old dirt road. I followed the overgrown road until it petered out. I then began ascending the slope in a non-bush whacking x-country route toward the highest point I could see. Fortunately, it was Peak 6629. Quickly, I topped out and enjoyed the views. To the west I saw two other rocky summits that were about the same elevation. I set out to go x-country to these summits as well. The second of these two summits was later determined to be Valcrest Rocks. It looked like I would’ve needed to technical climb to it’s true summit, so I made the executive-like decision to not stand on its highest point. Instead I continued going X-country back to ACH and back to the parking area, while forming a square shaped loop.
