"Despite it being early April by the time I hiked this, Peak 6200 is only my 2nd peak this year!!!! I am off to the slowest start ever!! With my terribly sucky work schedule this year and of course, Covid-19 and the lockdown, I was afraid that hiking was out of the question until I started diligently researching areas with random peaks to ensure good social distancing. This peak is not even listed on the topo maps. It barely has a small circle as the 6200' contour line at the top of it. So, this seemed a perfect, isolated area to scramble and get back into hiking!! This peak is a very short scramble from the junction of Hwy 18 and Smarts Ranch 4X4 road. I just headed east from the road junction up to the pointy, rocky hill immediately east of where I parked. It is only about 170' gain cross-country with a fair amount of scrambling, mostly class-2. I did pull a very short, easy class-3 move onto the highest summit rock, but nothing severely technical.
