Peak 6040 was a very easy summit reached from 1N12 above the Oaks Restaurant and post office in Angelus Oaks. It is very short, only about 250'-300' gain. Beautiful pine/fir forest enroute. On 1N12, a spur will head steeply up to your left, and the summit is a circular plateau rimmed by forest and chaparral, and it has some nice views. This climb was my appetizer for climbing Constance Peak, where I did a lollipop loop around back to 1N12 and back to Angelus Oaks.
