I parked just after Cloudview Rd turns into a dirt road, heading west, and took the Goldmine Trail to the east-west fence that is the boundary to the national forest. There is a gate there, and then a trail, but I left the trail and began to head up to the base. From the base the climb was steep, but there was a lot of rock and less vegetation. I headed to the next highpoint, then back the way I came.
