Very short hike up firebreak from Old Dominion Saddle between Ortega Hwy and Blue Jay Campground. It starts off as a very steep firebreak off N. Main Divide Rd. It is slippery and tough going so take it easy at the start (and at the end!!!). The firebreak gets tough to follow at times due to the chaparral which is dense. The steepness eases when you reach the ridge. You reach a false summit about 1/2 way up and a short downhill. The false summit shows your destination up ahead. This is a fun, challenging little hike. I suggest wearing long pants (long sleeves too), as you will squeeze through chaparral most of the way up and down. Then actual summit has a small rock cairn, summit register can, and a small benchmark. I did this in cool weather. Warm weather would bring out rattlesnakes, so be aware.
