I hiked along the Great Allegheny Passage east about 3.2 miles, then went up the slope. Looking at my GPS track later, I was further north than I realized. I found several points higher than 2920, at least according to the GPS. I kept going north for a little, then decided nothing was higher that way. I found the road, went south for a ways, then noticed I was climbing slightly. There were some large boulders then to the west, so I decided to explore those. I made it to the top of the highest boulder, and my elevation there was 2966. After that I found the McCune trail and took that back. If my GPS was pretty accurate, then that boulder is the actual highpoint. Point 2920 may simply be where the old fire tower is, and not necessarily the true highpoint, although if my GPS was significantly off then maybe not. Still, I will count what I did as the summit since I did the full climb of the mountain from the base. I went south, then west, and hiked Sugarloaf Knob, then completed my look back to where I began the hike.
