"Maybe the original Monongahela people who inhabited this region had a name for “Peak 2768,” but if so it’s as much a mystery as they are. They disappeared in the 1600s, just as the earliest white settlers were beginning to encroach to the east. I think it might actually be called Jones Mills Knob. I got there by taking the Cherry Trail about 3/4 of a mile, then cutting right and bushwhacking uphill to the peak.
