The original plan was to summit Manganese Peak to check out the great views of Lake Mead from here and to scout out the condition of Boathouse Cove Rd for future excursions. Well, the weather had a different plan. It had been raining the whole day before & continued as we drove to our starting point. The weather was in the high 40s with a light rain when we started hiking. We were actually getting hot on the way up with our rain ponchos. When we got about .25 mile from the summit, we hiked up into the clouds & had horrible visibility (about 100 feet). The wind at the summit was ice cold, so we didn't stay up there for long. This would be a nice quick hike to try again with better weather.
