"Laura, Jim, Steve and I get dropped off by Tom and Anna to hike the notorious Pelnor Hollow trail in the western Catskills. There is no parking/trailhead and the local property owner/family are unfriendly to hikers so we make a quick dash to the public land without getting confronted or possibly shot at. Once on the trail we pass the shelter and Peak 2670'( 2672' on the map) on our way to the Mary Smith trail. Both Steve and I, wearing shorts, end up with bloodied legs do to all the thick patches of briars. Before hitting the Mary Smith trail Anna helps us doctor our minor but messy wounds, what a nice friend in deed." — Nimblefoot • Sep 22, 2015
