"I started out at around 11 AM at the Chruch of the Open Door. Then I climbed through the hills up many switchbacks through the fog to get to the summit of Azusa Peak. These switchbacks sometimes had a bench on them and I stopped often to admire the engineering of this trail and the good views down into the city. Then once I reached the motorway, I climbed Azusa Peak and the summit had great views, a cross, and 2 benches. Then I went back down from the peak and then slowly made the climb up to Peak 2596 ft passing through meadows and poison ivy choked slopes .The summit of Peak 2596 was clouded over and had 3 survey benchmarks. Then I went down to Glendora Ridge Motorway and passed by clouded over viewpoints and Knobcone pines. I turned around after a while because I got bored of clouded over scenery. "Capping off my local peak revisits weekend, I hiked Glendora Ridge Rd. The hike had me crossing over Peak 2675 and Peak 2596. The turnaround point was Azusa Peak. Great ridge hike with many spring flowers along the way. Good views into Azusa Canyon as well." — MikeTeeples • May 1, 2022
"Peak 2596 is the last roadside peak before arriving at Azusa Peak. It is difficult to tell where the high point is when coming from the east. However, when going west, and after the long climb to where the road flattens out, I looked to the right and found a use trail that avoids the bushes. It is a straight shot to the top in about 100 yards. Of all the peaks visited on the day, this was the only one with a benchmark. After visiting here, I went on to Peak 2675 and Peak 2583." — MikeTeeples • Mar 21, 2020
