From the end of Lilac Lane, I walked through the entrance gate to access the Sonome Canyon Trail. The trail splits right away. I took the left fork that climbs into the hills. The mostly dirt trail is a formerly paved road that is still crumbling in certain areas. After 1.5 miles of moderate climbing the road reaches a ridgeline. There are four high points on the ridge, and each has radio towers on them. The highest of the four is Peak 1445. All four peaks overlook a large landfill to the west. The radio tower on Peak 1445 is surrounded by a fence, which I encircled before returning to Lilac Lane to conclude the hike. Visit #2, last visit was 17 years prior.
