"Started out from Omeo and drove to below Mt Hotham. Parked near the start of the summit access track and walked to the summit to set up and activate VK3/VE-006, making 11 contacts. Drove to Harrietville and up Cemetery Lane, then south to Peak 1570 m, aka VK3/VE-030 to set up and made 15 contacts. Retraced my access route and around to Peak 1287 m aka VK3/VE-070 to set up and made 17 contacts. Packed up and drove around to the north side of Albion Point & climbed to the summit to activate VK3/VE-080, making 13 contacts. packed up and returned to the car and drove north to Peak 1255 m aka VK3/VE081 Ebenezer range. Set up on the peak, making 11 contacts. Packed up and drove north, descended of the ridge via reliance Track to the Great Alpine Road and drove to Wodonga." — peterfreeman • Oct 10, 2020
"Rik and I headed in somewhat different directions today, with me making my way to Wodonga and Rik returning to Melbourne. But we first activated a couple of nearby summits separately so that we could make contact with each other. I headed to Mount Livingstone VK3/VG-045. I parked at the locked gate and walked up the road to the summit. I set up and made 9 contacts, including Rik on VK3/VG-030. I packed up and returned to the car, passing Rik on his way up the hill. I headed to Mount Hotham VK3/VE-006 to park below the summit and walking up to the trig. I worked Rik on Mount Livingstone plus 8 others. I then headed to Harrietville to purchase some food, again meeting up with Rik briefly before heading up onto the ridges to the west. I drove around to Peak 1287 m VK3/VE-070 to set up and made 6 contacts. I then drove around to below Albion Point VK3/VE-080 to park and climb to the summit. I made 5 contacts before packing up and returning to the car. I then drove north to reach Peak 1255 m VK3/VE-081 to set up and make 6 contacts. "Another day trip from Wodonga. Drove to Harrietville and up Cemetery Lane, then south to the north side of Albion Point. Climbed up to the summit. Set up the radio gear to activate VK3/VE-080, making 20 contacts. Walked back down to the car and drove north to the high point beside Peak 1255 m, known in SOTA as Ebenezer Range VK3/VE-081, Walked to the high point and set up nearby, making 19 contacts. "Travelled from Wodonga to Harrietville and made my way up into the hill and south to Peak 1570 m. parked just north of the summit and walked to the geodetic marker. Set up the station nearby and activated VK3/VE-030, making 15 contacts. packed up and drove around to Peak 1287 m to park. Set up at the edge of the track and activated VK3/VE-070, making 12 contacts. Packed up and drove around to the northern side of Albion Point to park. Walked up the hill and set up the station to activate VK3/VE-080, making 6 contacts. Packed up and returned to the car and drove north to reach Vk3/VE-081. Parked off the summit and set up at the summit, making 10 contacts. Packed up and drove north to exit to Freeburgh and then headed back to Wodonga." — peterfreeman • Dec 31, 2017
"Part of the annual Hotham SOTA Summit. Drove with Compton VK2HRX. Compton was driving. Drove from Hotham to Buckland Gap, then up Gunns Track to reach Mount Sugarloaf, with a brief stop to jump out & enjoy the scenery. Continued onwards and then took the track towards Peak 1570 m. Walked to the Trig marker (no trig tripod or other marker) and set set up the radio gear nearby. Qualified VK3/VE-030 with nine contacts. Packed up and returned to the car and drove back to Gunns Track and made our way around to Paddy Hill Track and on towards the high point. Walked to the high point of Peak 1287 m (VK3/VE-070) and set up just below the summit where we could through a line over a tree branch. Activated the summit with 9 contacts. Packed up and loaded up the car, heading back to Link Track to head north to Albion Point (VK3/VE-080). Parked on the NE side and walked up the rehabilitated track to the summit. Set up the radio gear and made 5 contacts. Returned to the car and headed north along Albion Track and Wet Gully Track to reach Peak 1255 m (VK3/VE-081). parked off the track and walked to the summit & again set up the gear. "Another day trip from Wodonga. Headed south to Porepunkah, then south into the mountains. Made my way up to Mount Murray. Climbed up to the summit trig after crossing the shallow saddle. Set up the radio gear to activate VK3/VE-025, making 27 contacts.
Packed up and returned to the car. Drove along Twins Jeep Track to the saddle south of The Twins to park. Climbed up the spur to the summit of Peak 1646 m. Set up on the summit and worked 27 stations to activate VK3/VE-023. Packed up and climbed back down to the car. Drove around to the Great Alpine Road and down to Harrietville, then up Cemetery Lane to Shamrock Track and up onto the main spur. Turned north and along Wet Gully Track to reach Peak 1255 m. I parked the car down the track from the summit and climbed up the track to set up at the summit. Activated VK3/VE-081 Ebenezer Range, making 15 contacts.
