"5/4/25: From the Jim Creek TH, Kevin, Jackson, and I started up the Jim Creek Trl on spikes. We started off trail after 1 mile and Jackson quickly switched to snowshoes; Kev and I waited to get above the steepest early parts which was the right move. Kev broke trail most of the bushwhack to the ridge nose where it opened up. I broke the rest of the way to just below the Peak 11820 summit where, after 4 hours, we were more than ready for lunch.
Unfortunately, within 10 minutes we got side blasted with 50 mph winds and quarter size graupel which was thankfully on the softer side. However, the snow-thunder proved too much and getting too close for comfort and it chased us off the ridge. I led us along a contour a hundred feet below the ridge and by the time we were rounding the summit it cleared enough to make our first objective and start to scout the route ahead.
We stowed the shoes and made a quick glissade down to the saddle and proceeded quickly up to our ultimate objective of NW Parry Peak (Peak 12090).
