This is my first peak since August 31st (I have a modest backlog of summits between late May to the end of August to finally log in on here). I have not been hiking as much lately, and when I have been out, it my adventures have been less "peak-centric". This peak was a last-minute climb. I was hiking in Powder Canyon and recording videos for my YouTube channel, when I caught glimpse of this very random summit. I took an unnamed fireroad that led from Fullerton Rd behind the town water company to a dead-end around power lines, as a few roads in the canyon end at power lines. The dead-end was well-short of the peak, to the southeast of the summit. I found a use trail heading northwest, so I followed it steeply uphill and it soon turned into more of a game trail in the old dried mustards common in the area. It entails very minor bushwhacking in the dried mustard plants, but nothing difficult. I followed that also northwest and reached the summit area with more power lines. It is about .65 mi one way with the road-use trail-game path to summit. I made it a loop by following Black Walnut Trail from the summit area back to Fullerton Rd which was .6 miles of hiking making for a 1.25 mi r/t with about 400' gain. I did not record video on top nor take my usual summit selfie. But I filmed my descent for YouTube. Great views from up here. It is also very near Hill 1112 and relatively close to Powder Canyon High Point (1,416'), so it would make a nice multi-peak excursion for those so inclined!
